How are things done in Switzerland?
There is More than just one way to elope in Switzerland
- Most couples that elope in Switzerland choose one of the following locations: the Jungfrau Region (Grindelwald, Lauterbrunnen etc.) or Zermatt. These places are incredibly beautiful, and if you have a vision of one of these places, I understand why! However, there are many more gorgeous places in Switzerland that are worth considering too if you aren’t completely decided!
- Most couples spend between 7000 and 25000 USD on their elopement in Switzerland. This is including flights and transport within Switzerland. How much you'll spend will depend on several factors; your number of guests, accommodation and activities being some of the most important ones.
- Most couples 'honeymoon' in the same area or elsewhere in Switzerland after their elopement. This way you get to celebrate being married with your spouse right after you say your vows, and you don't need another set of long-haul flights.
- Some couples get their hair and makeup done by a professional, others do it themselves. Some couples want a bouquet, some couples want their ceremony spot styled with arches, seats, flowers etc., some couples want none of that. There’s no right or wrong.
- Some couples want a private chef, some couples book catering, some couples cook themselves. Some couples eat at their hotel, in a restaurant or on a boat. Some couples prefer a picnic or have dinner in a mountain hut. It’s all up to what you think will bring you two the most joy on your special day.

Eloping is all about making your day special and personalized for the two of you. And this is why I don't recommend all-inclusive elopement packages. When you make the exciting decision to elope, you choose to wed your way, so make sure that your elopement truly fits the both of you.
